SENS Fitness Client of the Month - Kathy Barrans

What is health? Health is wealth as they say. We drink to it. “To your health,” as friendly Europeans typically say as they clink glasses. We strive for it. We pay for it. And yet, many of us neglect it, forget about it, and let it go for one reason or another.

Luckily, here’s a story of a SENS Fitness client who, after years of putting others ahead of herself, is working hard to reclaim her health and fitness. While dealing with the daily stresses of life, the loss of loved ones, deteriorating health of another close to her, and ultimately looking at herself in the mirror and not recognizing the person she’d become Kathy knew something needed to change. She needed to make herself her top priority.

Now, four months into her SENS Fitness journey, Kathy is down almost 20 pounds. She’s lost an inch in her neck and arms, 2 inches around her thighs, 3 inches around her chest and 4 inches from her waist but she’s gained a ton of confidence and years back on her life. Even her doctor was surprised to see her results at her last physical!

Despite everything that life has thrown her way, Kathy’s determination and willingness to prioritize her own health and wellness is why she’s the SENS Fitness Client of the Month!

1. Why did you decide to join SENS Fitness?

I needed to get myself to a healthier place and I am not a great self motivator when it comes to weight loss. I need support and I have that with SENS Fitness. People who are on this journey with me, sharing ideas and holding me accountable.

2. What goal are you working towards?

Fat loss, toning up a bit, and maintaining. Keeping it going, making it a part of my daily routine is something I have always struggled with but I am learning healthier habits so I have more hope now than ever before that I can do this.

3. What's the most challenging thing you've faced during this journey?

Stress. When I get stressed and it happens more often lately, I lose my drive. That’s why support is so important, the video messages and the accountability. Stress will keep coming. I have to find a better way when it does. So I guess that’s a goal too.

4. What have you done to stay focused on your goal?

I have stayed with SENS Fitness. I do hope to get to a place where I can do this on my own but that is my biggest challenge. I am getting stronger but I am not there yet. I still need the support system. Granted I will always need support but I feel like right now I am putting together a tool kit for myself so I have supports with me to do this on my own.

5. Apart from the usual things like pounds and inches lost, have you noticed any other benefits from the SENS Fitness Fat Loss Program?

Confidence, a sense of achievement, I feel healthier, a sense of belonging to a group that has my back without judgement. I lost some important people this year, major players in my support system, two died and one has Alzheimer’s. I come from a big family and have always had an amazing support system. I still need that.

6. How is SENS Fitness different than any other weight loss program or diet you've tried in the past?

The support and I don’t have to schedule weekly meetings into my days to make it work. It’s available anytime and I can watch the videos and all on my schedule. That makes it more do-able for me. And Jim and Karen are accessible and willing to help all the time. If I have a question or concern, I post and have a response within minutes. It’s personal. That matters!
